Taking a cue from Delhi where last week auto and taxi fares were revised, public and commercial transport facilities in Dehradun too have been hiked up by 20% to 40% with immediate effect. The hike includes City Bus Service, Private Taxis, Autos, Vikram and Maxi Cab.

After exactly one year, Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has revised electricity tariffs in Dehradun. This time the average hike is 5.21%. In face of market fears of a steep rise of up to 10 to 20%, a hike of 5.21% has been well received. Industrialists were apprehensive that if power tariffs were increased in a big way, further industrialization process in the state would be adversely affected. Giving a thumbs up to new power tariff scheme, Vibha Malhotra, Director state office of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said, “We welcome the power tariffs announced by UERC," Mr. Neeraj Sati, secretary of the UERC said, "Our tariffs remain the lowest among many states in the country".
