HAVE A DRINKING PROBLEM?? ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS (AA) IS HERE TO HELP

AA is an International Fellowship of Men and Women who once had a drinking problem. The primary purpose of the AA Group is to help members abstain from alcohol and attain and maintain sobriety. The only requirement for AA Membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues and fees for AA Membership. It is non-professional, self supporting, non denominational, multi racial and apolitical. Meetings are held in Dehradun, Roorkee and Rampur.

In Dehradun, meetings are held twice a week as follows:

Every Sunday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at St. Joseph's Academy, Rajpur Road, Dehradun

REHABILITATION AND COUNSELLING FACILITIES FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSERS AND CHEMICAL DEPENDENTS

NIJAAT is the first of its kind Rehabilitation and Counselling centre for Substance Abusers and Chemical Dependents in Dehradun and is completing a decade of community service. Nijaat has treated about 800 Drug and Alcohol dependents and has a success rate of about 50%. The admission is purely on voluntary basis and financial contributions are not a limiting factor. Other than running a residential counselling and rehabilitation facility, Nijaat also conducts Drug and Alcohol Prevention and Awareness Workshops for schools, colleges, slums and the community. Nijaat also undertakes HIV/AIDS Awareness and has worked in tandem with Uttarakhand State Aids Control Society.

HELP AT HAND FOR DRUG ADDICTS

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS is a support group for Drug Addicts based in Dehradun. Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Members meet regularly to help each other stay clean. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using drugs. There are no strings attached to N.A. It is not affiliated to any organisation and there are no fees and dues, no pledges to sign, no promises to make to anyone. N.A. is not connected with any political, religious or law enforcement groups. Anyone can join N.A. regardless of age, race, gender, creed, religion or lack of religion.
