Description:

Dehradun is the capital of Uttrakhand and it serves as a Headquarter for the District. It is the one and only corporation city of Uttrakhand. The city observes the highest urbanization in respect to the neighboring cities. The other three main urban centers of the state are Rishikesh, Hardwar, and Mussorie, which are located in a radius of 30km to 50km. Other major organizations of Dehradun and surrounding region that are in charge of urban management and urban planning are the Development authority of Hardrwar - Rishikesh, Development Authority of Special Area of Doon Valley, Jal Sansthan of Garhwal and Development Authority of Mussoorie Dehradun.

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation is working for the development of the city and the neighboring areas.
